This policy explains what information Tackle Box Picks (tackleboxpicks.com) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Tackle Box Picks is operated by Tackle Box Picks.
Information we collect
- Usage data. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the time of your visit.
- Analytics. We may use an analytics service, such as PostHog or Plausible, to understand how visitors use the site, for example how many people start and finish the kit builder. We use this in aggregate to improve the site.
- Kit builder answers. When the kit builder launches, we record the answers you give (such as species, location type and budget tier) to show your kit and to understand which kits are popular. We don't ask for your name to build a kit.
- Outbound clicks. When you click a product link, we record which product and kit the click came from before sending you to the retailer.
- Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your email address and message so we can reply.
Cookies and affiliate tracking
Our analytics may use cookies or similar technologies. When you click an affiliate link and arrive at a retailer's site, the retailer or affiliate network may set its own cookies to track whether you make a purchase. Those cookies are governed by the retailer's and network's privacy policies, not this one. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How we use information
- To run the site and show you the right kit
- To measure which pages and kits are useful and improve them
- To confirm that affiliate commissions are tracked correctly
- To reply to messages and keep the site secure
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with others for their own advertising. We share information only with service providers that help us run the site (such as hosting, database and analytics providers), or when required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep analytics and click data only as long as it's useful for improving the site, and email messages as long as needed to respond and keep a record of the conversation.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@tackleboxpicks.com. Depending on where you live, including California and other US states, you may have additional rights under local law, and we'll honor those requests.
Children
Tackle Box Picks is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
